5-6th October, 2023

Sant Feliu de Guíxols (Girona, Spain)

The Catalan Initiative for the Earth Biogenome Project (CBP), affiliated to the EBP and associated with the European Reference Genome Atlas (ERGA), aims to produce a detailed catalog of the genome of the eukaryotic species of territories of Catalan language and culture. At the 1st CBP Congress, the foundations of the genome generation workflow (from sampling to sequencing, assembly, annotation, publication and analysis) will be defined and the structure will be discussed and CBP governance.

The congress will mainly consist of debate sessions on the challenges of the project and their possible solutions.

We will have the guest lecture by Hugues Roest Crollius, from the Institute of Biology of the ENS (IBENS) and director of ATLASea.

CNAG participates in the 1st CBP Congress though the Coordination Committee and also, our Genome Assembly and Annotation Team team leader, Tyler Alioto, will be one of the speakers in the session 5 of the congress.
